Smoothbeam™ Laser for Acne & Acne Scarring Portland
The Smoothbeam laser is an advanced diode laser that treats acne by targeting its cause, the oil-producing sebaceous glands. The laser energy delivered during this treatment heats the sebaceous glands and changes their structure and function, preventing them from producing excessive amounts of oil. The laser beams target the sebaceous glands while leaving the surrounding tissue intact.
A typical treatment will take about 20-30 minutes with very little downtime. A consultation with one of our laser technicians will help determine your treatment schedule and intervals between treatments. Patients of all ages who are struggling with acne can benefit from a series of treatments.
Although acne treatment with the Smoothbeam laser is considered safe for most patients, there are certain risks and side effects associated with any type of treatment. DioLite™ 532 for Spider Veins Portland
This laser is a quick, comfortable, effective treatment for facial spider veins caused by dilation of capillary vessels. Pigmented lesions and freckles are also effectively treated using this device.
The laser works by generating intense beam of light which brings energy to a specific site through a small handpiece connected to the laser console. The laser light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (bright red blood cells carrying oxygen) and melanin/pigment (black or brown pigment found in the skin) causing decomposition or destruction by heat of unwanted cells while leaving healthy cells intact.
